Objectives:
Physicians will be able to state new techniques in the field of Primary Care and Internal Medicine. Physicians will also be able to discuss and apply practical knowledge, presented in an open forum, from leading specialists regarding the most up-to-date trends in scleroderma/renal insufficiency causes, common wound management cases in a family practice setting, new cervical cancer prevention treatments, thyroid disease in family practice, cardiocerebral resuscitation for improved survivial in cardiac arrest cases, and the treatment approach of robotic treatment for cancer patients, to name a few.

The Southwestern Conference on Medicine provide physicians from Arizona and other states with ongoing professional education. Strain and Counterstrain is an atraumatic way of treating somatic dysfunction that puts the patient in a position of comfort to relieve inappropriate neuro-muscular reflexes. It can be used with safety in almost any condition and with patients of any age.

Objectives:
The focus of this tutorial will be on the Lower Extremeties (hip, knee, ankle, foot); the Lumbar Spine, the Sacrum and the Pelvis. A major portion of the training time will be devoted to “hands-on” techniques so that the participants will have the opportunity to learn and perform practical Counterstrain applications. Each participant will be able to practice the learned techniques on another person.  Comfortable attire should be worn to facilitate the learning process. 

Credit Hours:
12 credit hours of AOA Category 1A has been approved for this program.
1.2 CEU credit hours for Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico for Physical Therapists has been applied for.

Registration:
$275 Early Registration (through March 28)
$300 Regular Registration (after March 28)

Early registration deadline is March 28, 2008.
Registration will close for all participants on April 11, 2008
or before that date if maximum enrollment of 30 participants has been reached.

Recommendation:
Each participant should have Clinical Application of Counterstrain by Harmon Myers, DO. Copies will be available at a discounted rate of $87.96 for purchase at the workshop.
