TOMF Announces October, November, and December Trustee Awards Winners

October 4, 2017

The Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation is honored to announce the recipients of the Trustee Awards for the months of October, November, and December. Local non-profit organizations in southern Arizona with a public health focused project are eligible to win the $1,500 grants each award cycle.

The October award was given to American Liver Foundation and will be used to help fund free Hepatitis C testing and Hepatitis B vaccinations at the Liver Life Walk Tucson to be held on October 7, 2017. It is the hope of American Liver Foundation that offering testing and vaccinations to the public will increase the awareness of liver disease among at-risk populations in the Tucson community.

Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT) won the November award. The award will be used to provide scholarships to disabled children and adults from low-income families who could benefit from equine therapy. TROT is the only PATH Premier Accredited Center in Tucson and offers valuable services such as physical therapy and counseling in addition to therapeutic riding.

PowerSource Tucson, Inc. is the winner of the December award. The award will go towards the purchase of hygiene products and household supplies as well as workshop materials. PowerSource Tucson, Inc. offers educational workshops, support groups, and assistance with local resources for women living with HIV.

TOMF congratulates the three Trustee Awards winners and is proud to support such incredible organizations.
